I am starting this blog to practice my writing and to record the projects I am doing here on our farm.
To start off with I have taken over one of my grandpa's old garden plots. It hasn't been used for over two years since he passed away.
I started out by clearing it of brush. Then I rototilled it several times. It has rained so much this year that I had to wait for a week for the ground to dry out enough to till.
Yesterday I tilled it and raked it into mounds I planted my seeds. I am using this garden spot to plant creeping things like melons, squash, and pumpkins.
I am going to start a square foot garden in our yard this week and hope to post pictures of that soon.
